Side not do you realise how hard it is to type while on a tread mill? I figured I can cruise the boards while working out. Hahehehehehe
Wife and kids think I spend too much time on these forums. Ya right!

If it were me, I'd ask him to name a price and see if it is something you can live with. If not, offer him what you think is fair. Also, I'd secure my own financing so it would be a clean deal with him. Buddies toting the note can turn sour in a hurry.

5k sounds good, Private sales are usually a little higher than what dealer will offer, and I think 5k is a good price. New 883C sells here for $8999.99 04 for is the first year of the rubber mounted engine. teh MSRP on that bike if it is a Custom was around $7,400.

I agree that is what I should do. I keep asking him to give me a price and he says, you name one. But I have known him for a long time and he does this with everything. By the way, I don't think he cares how much he sells it for to be honest. He owns a business that turns over 6-8 million dollars a year. And he is always trying to give wife and I stuff or paying for stuff and we keep having to turn down his offers. He loves to spoil his friends and I am not one to take advantage of that. No way, No how.

Wife dropped the Buell today slow speed no damage except her pride. She at the moment said she doesn't want to see another motorcycle again as long as she lives. That lasted about 2 hours and then she was fine. But needless to say, we didn't go to see the bike today.

My wife and I picked up our first harley a few weeks ago. We got a 2004 sporty 883xl. The bike had 8,000 miles mostly stock except se II exhaust. We picked it up in Las Vegas off of ebay for $4,200. So, $5 might be just a little high, but probably not far off. My 2 cents.

Go apply for a few loans for the bike. Give them the year, model, miles etc. etc. and see what they are willing to finance for the bike. That will give you an idea of what it is worth, more or less, and you can tell your friend, "hey, this is what the finance company thinks it's worth. And take it from there.
