I put on T bars rather than apes, but I relocated the speedo to the top tree following capttawes relocation idea from a previous thread. In these photos the speedo is mounted to a set of Accutronix trees but they do fit on the stock trees as well. I've listed the parts used below...

The speedo bracket is a V-Twin part # 39-0212 ($45). When I went to order mine it was on backorder from the factory though they were in stock at Discount Cycle Parts.

Other parts I used were purchased from HD...

67104-95 Speedo/Tach cushion $7
68513-95 Bezel, warning lamp $ 2
68516-95 Housing warning lamp $ 9.20
68551-95 Warning Jewel $14.96

Hi Gilmour68,

Could you upload a photo of the exact location where you mounted the speedo?
What is that "tree" you reffer to?
Thanks.

Dave,

I've mounted my speedo to the top triple tree. On the Custom model, there's a chrome trim piece that attaches with two allen bolts. If you remove that piece and slightly modify the mounting holes on the speedo bracket, you can mount it using those same bolts.

I removed and replaced my triple trees with some Accutronix mid-glides, but the mounting holes on this tree is in the same spot and is spaced the same as the stock unit.

I'll try to post some pics of the exact mounting position as soon as I get a chance.

I am going to be switching from the 09 1200L handlebar to the 09 1200c handlebars and harley pull back risers.

Are you saying that my indicator lights will not fit in the 1200c speedo housing?

Correct.
You'll need the little plastic bits that allow your existing dummy lights to fit in the new top clamp/speedo housing unit.

Do you have a picture of what you are talking about (plastic bits?) Or a link to where I can purchase one..

Thanks

It depends on what your new set-up came with if you bought it used.
I'll assume it came with nothing but the riser and top clamp. The actial light bulbs are in your existing Low set-up.
For a Custom model you'll need:
68382-96 Bezel assembly
68423-96 Jewel, indicator lamp
58792-96 Housing
Check with you local Harley dealership's Parts Department to verify, but I'm pretty sure that's all you'll require.
