1K service, how much?

Harley's are very easy bikes to work on.....
Everything you need to check/adjust/replace is shown in the Owners Manual (in the Maintenance Section), and the Owners Manual also shows how to do most of the maintenance.
Just get either a Clymers (which I prefer) or HD Service Manual and spend a little time getting to know your bike.
If you do your own labor the total cost would be about $30 for fluids/filters, and would only take a couple of hours.
Why pay $250+ to a dealer and then have no idea of what they actually did or the quality of service performed.

I just wanna say this is my biggest bitch about harley is the cost of service on the bikes when you buy new. I never have never will buy new for this fact. I think they could do the service for alot less than they charge for it. I say find a good indy and let him do it or just do it yourself. I have a good indy if I can't get to it myself he does it for $125.00 oil, primary oil, primary chain adjustment, trany oil change, valve adjustment, swingarm and head bearing lube and checks all spokes on laced wheels and goes over every nut and bolt as if it was his own.

I guess I should re-state that, I got 3 hours of free labor when I bought the bike along with 15% off parts/service and apparel every month as I stated earlier. I also get free life-time inspection. My dealership also washes the bike for free after service, and they do a nice job at that too.
I chose to use 2 hours today for my 1k service, the other hour I can use for anything I want. the service department suggested that I do a 2500 service, which is just an oil-change and a switch to synthetic oil. I might use it then or I might do that one myself, and wait and put it towards the 5000 mile service which is more comprehensive.
