Originally the "Peanut tank" refered to the 2.2 gallon Sporty tank which was used back in the day, like up until the mid to late 80's. Then the Sporties tank size was increased to a 3.3 gallon size, but kept the same styling as the 2.2 size. Then in '04 or '06, I can't quite remember exactly, only the "C-Custom" models came with a 4.5 gallon tank in a different design, with all the other sporties still getting the 3.3 gallon peanut tank. So, to answer your question, yes, the "Customs" come with the bigger 4.5 gallon tank that is shaped different.....(fugly in my opinion).

I'll have you know I've had chicks pull me over just to get a closer look at my tank!
