Default tank panel/bib

had my '05 1200c tank re-painted and the dealership says I have to but a whole new panel trim kit. They didnt say anything until they were putting it back together, they say the motor co. does not sell the double sided tape to put it back on. WTF?? now I have to but a new one. guess I'll go with the hrome one this time I think its $125. Has anyone put the chrome one on?? what about a leather tank-bib...Anyone have these??pics??Shouldnt the dealer have known this> they say they didnt know, guess they do now, at my expense. Any suggestions ?? thanks

Buy some automotive trim tape and put it back on yourself.

Mustang seats makes leather tank bibs and matching rear fender bibs if you are running a solo seat. Do a google search and you will find a number of suppliers.

Then take it to a bodyshop and they can put the trim piece on for you. I doubt anyone would charge more than $20 including the tape and install.

3M sells the tape. Buy a roll and bring it to them (your dealer). They're taking advantage of you. Bodyshops remove and reinstall door moldings all day long. Clean and retape... simple.

Or, leave it off for a cleaner look. (like me )
