i know your feeling. I went from a bike that had middle controls, pretty much 90 degree angle like i was in a chair. My 09 sportster came with forward controls and i was very worried i would not like them at all. Its takes a bit to to get used to the different position but over all i love them. Very comfortable on the legs and a comfortable riding position.

My 2008 Nightster came with mid-controls. I switched to forward controls today and let me tell you it is one of the BEST things you can do. The bike is so much more comfortable to ride and personally I feel like I have a bit better control of the bike.

I would NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to mid-controls after experiencing forward controls for the first time. Money well spent!
