With the rest, don't sweat it. I dropped mine the first week I had it out and I had to drive 20 miles home after. I was paranoid the whole time. Sucked pretty bad. Just keep on keeping on. After some miles you'll get the hang of it. By the time you put 1k miles on it'll be cake.
It sound like you locked up the front brake with the wheel turned. That will thow the bike over ever time. If you have the wheel turned at 1-5 mph and you need to stop only use your rear brake. One other thing it could possible be if you have a sportster with mid pegs your pants could have snagged. I saw my old man drop his sportser in my driveway. I made him get forward controls after that. If you really want to speed up the learning curve spend 50 bucks and buy Ride Like a Pro DVD. It really explains clutch control and rear brakeing. Good luck, and dont worry everyone us still makes mistakes. The important thing is to know what you did wrong so it will not happen again. Hope this helps.
I came flying up to a porch full of partyers once, trying to be suave, and didn't get the kickstand down all the way. By the time the back of my brain realized it, all I could do was get out of the way as the bike went down. It drew a rousing round of applause from the revellers on the porch and I felt pretty embarassed, not to mention the damage. Stuff happens. Only worms never fall down.
Haha I did exactly the same thing with my brand new 883IRON, had a great ride on it for 2 hours got it home and dropped it! It happens dude, don't let it affect you, get back on and ride!!!!! You're not a real biker unless you dropped and crashed it at least once!
