I've had 2 sets of these. First pair got trashed when I went sliding for about 60 feet on a concrete lane separator.

I got a set from here

adjustable to 3 settings and fit my 2010 sporty a treat.
Considered the forward controls, but i like having the choice of where I put my feet. Makes long journeys easier being able to shift your legs about!

ive got the forward controls on my nighty and my legs do just fine. of course after a few hours my legs get tired but i just turn my feet at an angle and slide them behind the brake and shift lever. im only 5'5 so this give my legs room to go completely straight and still have plenty of room between the ground and my heels. not to highjack the thread but id like to see some pics of the Kuryakyn Cruise Pegs mounted on a sporty. i think i may be interested in those myself.

The Kuryakyns bolt onto the existing two holes located at the bottom of your frame under the voltage regulator ... much like a handlebar and riser.
I am able to use them with my heels on the original peg and toes on the cruise peg, or on the cruise peg alone for even more leg room.
I picked up mine for $119.00.

I'm 6'2", have a 34+ inch inseam, and the factory forward controls on my 2004 1200C feel very 'cramped' to me. If I used the Sportster as my main ride I would no doubt have some 3 or 4 inch extensions fabricated.
For some reason HD must assume that most Sportster riders have a short inseam, as one of the changes they made with the 2004 model year so called improvements was to move the position of the forward controls 1.5" closer to the rider.
As you can see from the below pictures, the factory forward controls on the 2004+ Sportsters are located about halfway between the mid-control and forward control position used on the Dyna's and Softail's.
Just a little too cramped for me....
