Default Stupid question.

When you add slip ons to your bike do you need to remap the computer or any such thing? What I mean is if I order the slip ons can I just put them on and be done with it or do I need to do anything else for fear of the bike not running right?

Default RE: Stupid question.

You should be fine just putting them on. At most if your engine starts acting like it is running too lean you may need to rejet the carb. I have the SE-II slip ons on my 883 and haven't needed to rejet. When I replace the air cleaner I'll definately be doing the rejet, though.

Default RE: Stupid question.

it depends what you're looking for. putting the slip-ons on is just half of the equation if you're looking for extra power. you'll find better performance when you combine the 2, since you'll be getting more air (with a different air cleaner set-up) to go out the larger exhaust system. with this type set-up you would more than likely want to make adjustments (re-jet) the carb or injector. good luck and let us know which way you go. stay safe and enjoy the ride...
