Default Wife may kill me . . . . .

I'm gonna go way out to the edge of the limb and do something a married guy should never do, but I need some good info here . . . .

I bought wifey a new 883 Low last Saturday and she loves it (me too) but the ride home (120 miles) told me the first mod was going to be a new seat. I have a Mustang seat on my Road King and love it so the brand choice is easy for the Sportster.

Here is the dangerous part, I'm going to print wifey's weight online (this is legal grounds for homicide guys). She is 5'6" and 128lbs. (I feel like a doomed man now)

Which Mustang seat will do the best job on her Sporty - the 12.5 vintage or the 14.5 Vintage??

I want comfort first before looks but looks are inportant too. Remember, this is her first bike and could be laid down so if the 14.5 is going to "stick out" then I should go with the narrower seat right? She does have the HD engine bar on her bike but I'm not sure it will save a wide seat.

What is working for you guys?

The only things for sure here is;
1) the factory seat has to go and
2) I am a dead man.

Thanks for your help.

128 lbs? She's Tiny... so i have good news for you. You're going to live!! Here's the thing. If she's comfortable on the narrow seat, and since looks are important... start there. if she doesnt like it after a while, sell it and get the wider one... and be sure to post some pics!

No, that's not a typo - she weighs 128lbs. and is quite the hottie but even if she weighed 98lbs. you don't get to put it on the internet!!!

Get the skinny one dude. If you want to live. You get the wide one she's going to think you think her *** is fat. It'll work great for her.

5'6" 128 lbs. Sounds to me like you're bragging and not asking for seat advice. Well done.

+1

Seriously, let her make the call on the seat since it's her afterall. I rode on a stock 2008 1200XLC seat for 9 straight hours. I felt fine and refreshed. I'm sure some on here wouldn't even sit that stock seat for more than 2 minutes before complaining. Each person will accept a seat that fits their tail. Let her ride it for a while and upgrade accordingly.
