A clutch cable of questionable dependability/quailty is something I wouldn't mess with. Wouldn't want to be out in the boondocks somewhere and have it fail, and you have already mentioned that it goes out of adjustment easily.

If it were me I would yank off that aftermarket POS, install a cable made for the bike, adjust it, and forget about it for the next 40,000+ miles...

Doesn't look like a HD part to me. I think you have an aftermarket cable there.
