What is MOST important? HP, Torque, or Displacement??
Hello Hello,
I'm in a marketing class and need to do a research project so why not do it on what I love? Motorcycles and Engines!
If you could help me answer what is most important for you when selecting a bike; hp, torque, or displacement by answering this 1 MINUTE survey i would really appreciate it!

Thanks for helping me out! I promise it's quick and painless

The old saying is there is no replacement for displacement and it's true, the bigger the engine you have the more torque it is going to produce, torque is what makes your bike go down the road; there is no true way to measure HP it's just a calculation.

What do you want to do?
MotoGP bikes all win because they are high-revving horsepower monsters.
Torque is more desirable for a city bike, as you're coming off the line more.
The problem is that most high-torque bikes have narrow and low powerbands (a property of air-cooled designs). Like Certainteed said, if you can extend the usable powerband on a high-torque design......

If you roll on the throttle and it moves you back in the saddle, you don't really need to know.
Unless you are just a curious sort.
I'm more curious about that tree falling in the forest but I can understand your concern.
Goggle it and brew some coffee. You have a lot of study ahead.
When you finish with it, see if you can find someone who heard that tree, will you?

im new to bikes but the whole torque vs horsepower debate is big in the hot rod world too. in my oppinion horse power is more important than torque. if you dont believe me go to the drag strip and make a pass shifting at your vehicles torque peak rpm and another pass shifting at the horsepower peak rpm and see which time is faster. although both are important
