How many miles do you put per year?

Miles per year will vary depending on many conditions....
I've been averaging around 20,000 miles each year since I started riding Harley's back in 1970, and many I've ridden with over the years have me beat by a long shot...
But it is easy to put on a lot of miles when you have almost unlimited time to ride.
I've never had what most would consider a "normal job" where you are required to be cooped up for 8+ hours a day, 5+ days a week. I've never been very domesticated, no wife or other family obligations to cut down on the riding time..
But if you only have time to ride in the evening, on weekends, or during a couple of weeks each year while away from your job, and have a wife and family it will limit the amount of time you have to ride.
Because of all that annual mileage figures will vary greatly for individuals.

jeez- you guys are lucky... ride mine to work and back most days and weekends when i can. i still dont seem to get more than 3,000 miles a year.
living less than a mile to work is part of it-
getting ready to get rid of the cage cause it sits and collects dust.
long answer to your question- my answer is that the number of miles that are right for you is whatever you can ride !

Being self employed and free to set my own hours allows me plenty of time to ride. I do have an OL, but she has a regular 7-5ish Mon-Fri job. That lets me sneak out during the week at after she leaves, do a 300 - 400 mile "lunch" ride and be home before she gets off work, just in time to change clothes and tell her how hard I worked all day.
To answer your question, 18,000 - 20,000 miles a year.
Oh yea, living in FL makes for riding year round.

Thats awesome everyone rides a fair amount. I have a lot of friends that just dont ride that often. I LOVE riding. I'll ride in 30 degree weather as long as the roads are good. I've seen some people buy bikes and only put 800 miles in a season, that makes me think, "why in the world get a bike in the first place???" but I guess its what suites them.
