Default 2000 1200C Cuts off and won't start after 15Min

My sportster developed a problem recently. After the bike gets warmed up is cuts off and then will not start until it cools down. This seems to take about 10 to 15 minutes.

I am not seeing any spark. Everything else is powered up and getting fuel.

Could it be the Coil or ECM.

Anybody got any idea's. The bike has 28K on it and runs well when it does run.

Thanks for your help on this

My first thought is the coil. If you have manual test the resistance for the coil when it is cool and after the bike dies when hot. Other things can cause your problem but the coil is the most likely culprit.

Ignition control module is a real common problem in those years and has the exact symptoms you describe.

Check what Jag & Flat stated, but also check all the simple connections like the 90* connector(s) on the coil. Actually, check all the connections you can find for any corrosion or to see if they wiggled loose. For that 90* connector on the coil, just pull it off the coil stud, give the connector a good squeeze with either your fingers or a pair or pliers, (but do NOT completely smash it), and then re-connect it so that you can really hear that connector clicking as it slides back on over every ridge. The connector it will heat up as the eletrical current is running through & loosen the connection while riding causing the bike to start sputtering & then die. (Been there, done that & a couple minutes later it would fire up to ride a little ways down the road just to die again.) Always start with the simple stuff. I've also heard these symptoms could be a cracked coil, though.
