Default Chrome Caps for housing help

I was bought the chrome caps for my buttons (turn signal, start, horn etc.) Well i talked to the dealership and he says just put a knife in there and pry it, and break it out. STUPID STUPID STUPID me, listened to him. I used a screwdriver and it scratched the housing up a lil bit, and it looks like it broke the small piece that holds the cap to the housing on the inside of it. I can't get glue to hold, any ideas? More importantly has anyone done it? I need to know the right way to finish it off right. The directions say to pry it off and pop knew ones on, It didn't work that easliy for me. So any information would be very helpful.

i just put chrome caps on my sporty 3 days ago, you need to take the housing off, there a screw on top, and a screw on bottom, that will get you to 2 top buttons, then you need to take the bar clamp off, that 2 more screws, and that will allow you to take off the turn signal, but there are screws that hold the buttons, to the housing, you should of got directions with the caps on how to take the old ones of, by poppin off one side at a time, if you didnt get instrucions e-mail me, and ill send you mine, but you have to go slow, otherwise youll break the cap, i just about broke one of my turn signals because i couldnt get it on right, and i had to take off and put it back on about 6-7 times. as for the piece you broke, sorry, im not sure what piece your talkin about, but harley should be able to get you a replacement piece......post back if you need anymore info.

and i do have to say, they look nice when you get them on, and i always clean mine when i park it in the shed, your fingerprints stay on there, and it could possible ruin the chrome, so be careful, and keep them clean
