Random question but how did you get your Nightsters Handlebars to be so low like they are in your sig pic? I have a 09 Iron with the stock drag bars....are yours the drag but modified? LMK if you can, I like riding a little bit more aggressive rather than straight up.
dude.. you like a more aggressive riding style.... try inverting the stock bars, that is what I did to my 09 Iron:
how did you prep the metal parts?? did you sand it? i know the texture is rough already, but not sure if paint would stick to it very well...
so how did you prep everything?
dan
There was not much preping needed. Like you stated it was textured and you couldent sand it. So I just made sure it was clean. (I used brake cleaner) Taped it off and sprayed it. Only time will tell if it sticks, but there is not much wear on these parts that are painted.

Mine has held up great so far! Of course it has only been about 10 months, but no problems yet.
Not sure how I ran across this thread- but I'm suscribed. I was looking to build a bobber but I think I might just join your dark side. THese bikes rock!
This is going to be a winter project of mine. Always wanted the engine black. But a question came up today as I was telling a friend about this. It is an air cooled engine. So wouldn't the extra coat of paint make it run hotter?

No the engine does not run any hotter. as a matter of fact the Iron comes with a black motor.

Thanks. The thought was an extra coat of paint equals and extra coat of protection causing it to run hotter. Color won't make a difference I know but with the extra coat I was just thinking.
