Default New ECU

My bike started to backfire through the intake a few weeks back and it was getting worse and worse. It started out doing it maybe once or twice on cold starts but it got to the point where it would kill the bike at idle. I took it to the dealership in Alexandria and they ran some tests on it but they all checked out as normal. The guy from the dealership called me and let me know that even though the tests came back normal something was definitely wrong and he was thinking it was the ECU (since there were no trouble codes). He was right, they replaced the ECU and now it starts right up with no problems. It just surprised me to see a ECU go out on a bike with less than 500 miles on it.

Some times things just work out that way. I knew some one who bought a new wide glide a couple of years ago and on his way home with it the engine siezed up. the bike had a faulty oil pump if i remember correctly. needless to say he got a different bike.
