Hey SteveO, how are you planning on cutting it? a rotating grinder with cutting wheel? if so.... I recommend you cover the belt and sprocket with either metal pieces or solid wood in case the tool ricochets and hits the sprocket/belt.... do not use cloth or anything that can tear apart and get wrapped around the spinning grinder (I know, it sounds like a smartass recommendation, you probably know all this, but it also goes to anybody reading this post, I am just trying to help and avoid injuries!!)

Happy riding!!!!

Yes Joe I used a Grinding Wheel today and some really thick cloth and it came out great. What did you guys use for touch up? I got a spray rattle of some Camoflauge satin black....

Also, Im thinking of grinding it down even further to the strut itself and getting these taillights to bolt right where the strut is. I see that you and MReed have it out a few inches and bolt the tailights. Here are the tailghts. Pretty expensive, but they are really sleek compared to the bulky stock ones.

I just feather sanded it back & painted it like anything else.

Those lights are cool but make sure they're capable of turn, run & stop.
