RE: handle bars
I put a set of Mini apes on my 04 1200C. I was able to re route the throttle cables and they worked fine, I had to go with a longer clutch cable and front brake line. You can get a set of wiring extensions from Harley so that you want have to splice your wires.
To keep from rewiring the front turn signals I reloacted them to the front forks with a kit from Harley. Looks much better and didn't have to splice anything.
Good luck with the project.
