Default Strange Leak.

Okay so I have not rode for any length of time in about a week although I did start it up to move it on Monday. Today I got home and rode it around for about 10 miles then parked it. Came back about an hour later and I noticed a puddle of some type of fluid right around the rear master cylinder. The vent hose that runs from the fuel tank was also right there at the master cylinder. Try as I might I cannot identify the fluid, and I really don't think it's brake fluid as the fluid level was perfect and I cannot get it to leak no matter how hard I press the pedal. The vent hose is still dripping but I assumed that it was just covered with whatever fluid that was leaking. Here is the thing if the vent hose comes from the gas tank I would be able to tell the fluid was gas and it would have evaporated pretty quick. So any ideas?
06 883 by the way.

smell it. If it smells like gas, or oil you'll know the smell. If it doesn't smell like either of those, it's brake fluid.

Make sure oil isn't running down the vent hose from another location on the bike.

You haven't pissed anybody off lately? Guy at work several years back pissed me off, so while he was out on a job, I took about 1/2 Qt. of oil and poured it under his motor casing on his rice burner. To this day he still don't know why his bike leaked oil. You just don"t agitate the agitater.

I did smell it and I wasn't oil gas or brake fluid , or at least it wasn't like any I have ever smelled. Didn't seem to leak anymore last night. Just a very strange problem. I believe that it is coming form the vent hose for sure so what would make it stain my garage floor and smell,...... well not like gas.

Possibly condensation from your exhaust? I don't know. Other than those four, I don't know what else it would possibly be..... maybe your blinker fluid reservoir is leaking?

Could you just have parked over someone else's drip spot?
