In forward control installation hell...help
Putting HD forwards on my 09 Nightster. There is no way that the brake side is going to work. The stock exhaust wants to be right where the pedal and peg assembly is. Plus, the brake rod seems to be about 1" too long. I can't get it to connect at the back and front at the same time. The shifter side is OK....anyone help?
thanks in advance....

And the winner is........Nonstop!!!!
Like an idiot I had the brackets reversed. Although there isn't a good way to tell which side is which. Until you're 3/4 done and have to start over.
Thanks everyone for your help - forwards are on and I'm going for a ride.
cheers!!

Part is 33397-07A. Big difference and it feels likea new bike (I'm 6 feet). Worth every penny.
Tricky part is, the brackets will hold either the brake assembly or the shifter assembly. I had the shifter side working fine but the brake side wouldn't bolt up. I bench tested it too. I was certain I had things dialed up right before I started. Good thing I used blue loctite....

I'm assuming you used your mid-control pegs and shifter peg with the new forward controls, yes? I really need to get some forward controls too.

Yes, I re-used the stock ones. I'll likely upgrade to something snazzy in the future but that's an easy swap. The stock ones are good for now.
It really takes the bike out of the 'I'm a small Sportster' zone, and makes it feel like a much bigger bike.
