Default rear directional lights help

Hello every one I have a 2006 1200custom sportster with many extras on it. My question is I have to replace the rear directional crome standoffs which hold the lights out from the fender. I ended up gouging them on accident. The problem is I know how to take every thing apart but you have to seperate the wires from the plug that hookes into the wire harness. The plastic plug is to big and wont slide through the holes. You have two wires in the plastic plug. part of the plastic plug flips up but dont I dont know how to free the wires. thank you.

You need to us a #10 needle or a VERY TINY Screwdriver and raise up the detent tab in the plastic housing.....

Once they are released, the wire and metal tang will slide out the back side...
