Having these pipes installed Monday along with 1k service. Am I going to be happy with these. Currently have SEII slip ons. Already at stage 1. Are they going to be too loud to the point that they bother me.

You're gonna like 'em. I was running the SEII's before the shortshots, and think that the shortshots have a little deeper rumble than the SE's. Perform about the same or better, look killer, sound great.

They are going to be WAY louder than stockers of course. I would recommend a good set of earplugs for anything over 30mi -

 

These pipes are great,the sound does not bother me at all. They come in handy when someone is about to cut you off. I do have to idle down my street after a late night or early morning ride. One of the best purchases so far. 06 1200c

 

I also want to get them for my 06 883C. Just waiting on the funds to kick in hahaha
i will re-jet and get a filter, does it matter between screamin eagle or k &n filter?

 

he's not looking to compare them to stockers, he's comparing them to SEII's. The shortshots are similar in volume , maybe a little louder.

 

You will find the short shots to be much louder than SE 2 's I have short shots now and this thing now sounds like a harley should lots of sound. If you want loud pipes but still have baffles go with the short shots . My bike actually runs better with them this motor can breath now . Much more pickup then se2 mufflers .

 

I just love the look of the ShortShots. The only thing that worries me is that they will be much louder than my SE2's. I'm kinda happy with the noise i make now, but they would be my first choice.

 

i had short shots put on my 06 883c last week (along w/ se air cleaner and rejet), i LOVE them! a little loud at first but i got used to it. you can keep them fairly quiet if you can keep off the throttle, i can't. tried them with the baffles out, not much louder but sounded like crap.

 

Just had a set put on today! Holy Snot! They are awsome!!
