Default 10" Licks Shocks

I just ordered a set of these. They are actually the 2nd. Generation shocks in a brushed finish. They were on sale for 200 bones and couldn't pass it up. Anybody else have experience w/ these. I'll let ya know what I think of them when they get delivered and installed.

I'm running a set of the 10" HD's on my '00 XLH. They're a bit stiff, but I like'em.

I have 12" stock shocks cranked all the way down and my bike sits low, but I have been thinking about geting 10" shocks are cranking them all the way down, just to be real low.

Cranking shocks up or down does not change the length of the shock nor the height of a bike. 12" shocks are 12" shocks whether you crank them up or down. All you are doing when you crank the shocks is changing the pre-load on the spring of the shock allowing for a softer or stiffer ride.

I put a set of all black 10" shocks from Lick's on my wifes 08 Nightster when she had it to get it lower for her, didn't really help all that much. Her Nightster rode almost like a hard tail, you really had to look out for the man hole cover and bump's with those things. Damn I wish she never sold that bike and so does she now.

Well, i figure the stock shocks on my nightster ride like crap, so how much worse can it get. It pretty much is just a bar-hopper so i'm not too worried. Just wanted a slightly lower stance.

I have been riding the Licks shop iron with the second gen shocks installed. I have just about 200 miles on them and they are a great improvement over the first gens. As compared to the stock iron shocks, (which are 11") they are slightly stiffer than stock, but not by much. I have yet to bottom these shocks out yet (at 185 lbs). Although the bike still has the cushy stock seat on it, the ride might be a little rougher with a firm saddle.
