why not 10w-40 synthetic oil ??

I've never had a problem starting either of mine well down into the low 20's using 20w-50.

I live in Pa.
when I had my sportster I never used less then 20/50. the owners and shop manuals both suggested 20/50 below 60 deg. 50W above 60 deg and 60w above 80 deg.

My softail books say the same.
