Update... Went to a mechanic. Took the wheel off, spin balance good, 21 inch wheel is good. He believes it is the rubber. He did not feel anything wrong in the steering head. He said the rubber looked a bit tired... Guess Ill try this first... Mike

mine does the same thing at 45mph ....everything looks ok maybe slight cupping on front tire ...i heard these tires get out of balance as they wear ....maybe some dyna beads would be a good remedy.....however my tires are almost worn out with 11000 so im just going to get new ones....2005 1200 c

There are 2 major causes of tire cupping.

- Not maintaining proper inflation pressures. Yes, a couple of pounds does make a difference.
- Running an out of balance tire. This is another plus for Dyna Beads as they continually adjust the balance as the tire wears.

Hopefully you just bought some Metzlers and solved the mystery.

Be sure to look for that same problem to develop as you put miles on them, that may tell you more about the cause of your previous trouble. Might even adjust your riding habits.
