I've got a Badlander on my XL1200C and it is deceptively comfortable. When I bought the bike I looked at it and thought, that's gonna be the first thing to go, but it's very comfortable, especially compared to stock. It looks great too!
I've got forwards and drag bars so I don't know how it would be with mids and stock bars.
