I don't think so without some modification. Almost everything on Sportys changed between 03 & 04.

I hope not. I planned on replacing my '04 with an '03. Wanted taller bars but don't like the look with the curved riser.

Do you already have the stuff from a 2004 sporty? In that case, the answer would be yes. Unless they don't fit, in which case it's No.

I put a 2000 tach in a 2004 double bracket and installed it in my wife's 2003 XLH883. Worked OK. In your case, the speedo is likely to give you trouble, as it will show the last mileage from the 2004 it was removed from. If the mileages are significantly different, you may want to order a new speedo from HD...they'll set the mileage before it's shipped out (about $350).

You may be able to use the actual speedo from hers by disassembling each unit and swapping the "insides" (for lack of better terminology). Everything else will fit.

So is the spacing the same on the riser mounts? I was hoping to put the 'insides' of my speedo in an '03 mount when I change the bars. Kinda the opposite of what 61harleyman wants to do.

The top clamps are interchangeable so I would say yes but I have not measured for a difference in the two.

As far as the spacing between the risers, my 02 and 08 are interchangeable. The Speedo housing that attatches to the top clamp will fit the speedo from either bike also. I am pretty sure the speedos are interchangeable electrically, but like was said, the odometer mileage will not be correct.

Your riser from the 04 custom should fit without a problem.

I did that to my 1996 custom with a 1 inch spacer custom made for it looks great but it was a lot of trouble the new customs(04-2010) have tanks that are lower on the frame if you try to mount it you will hit your tank

I used a speedo from a 2000 model before and after the swap but on the inside of the 04 speedo housing there was a tab for the reset button(three actually) i did have to grind those out with a dremel tool
