Default Good windshield for the sporty?

Hey everyone,

I figured I'd ask yet another question to find what yall have tried and foudn to work. I do alot of freeway riding, and expect to be taking many longer day trips and maybe some overnighters in the near future. I also expect to be riding when its 40 degrees out (trying to get all the riding in that i can while i can) I have had many people swear by windshields, and they have reccomended that I get one adn that I'd enjoy it.

I have seen the HD removabale windshield and can get it online for $280 or so. What are soem windshields that yall have tried and enjoyed?

Thanks.

MH

Got the HD Detachable windshield. It works great and is on/off in 1 minute. Leaves no hardware on the bike when it's off. I used it all winter for riding to work everyday and on the weekends. I completely recommend it.

Got the detachable windshield for my 1200 and it has only come off for cleaning. I haven't gone anywhere without it ever since putting it on.

the HD detachable is the only way to go. It goes on and off in seconds, and it still looks good.

Thumbs up

+1 On the HD quick release, leaves nothing on the bike and it looks good and works good. I think it's worth the bucks. Ride safe. ( 08 1200C )

Another plug for the HD detachable windshield. I have one on my XL1200L and I like it alot.
There's been some discussion concerning how high it should go. I can just see over the top of mine and it works well for me.

Harley uses a softer plastic that is more forgiving in a crash, but is less durable. Memphis Shades has a harder tougher plastic that is less forgiving in a crash. From what I've heard you will do well with either brand.

A biker with 280,000 miles under his belt advised me to go with the Fats. I don't know how you could improve on the Fats in terms of function and durability. But, then again I haven't crashed into yet!
