Default 1997 Sportster 1200 ignition module

last night i changed the coil , plug wires and ignition module and now the bike doesnt start. here are the parts that I used:
coil 31653-97, 40,000
wires 32092-98a, 10mm
ignition 32420-94, 8,000 rev limiter
I added these same items to my 1994 about a year ago with no issues. any thoughts?

You'll have to go through and make sure its wired properly. You could have a broke wire going to the coil or the coil wired wrong. Is this one programmable? If it is check all your dip switches again and make sure you have the right firing mode selected IE: single fire / dual fire.

Does it back fire?

it is not a programmable so there are no dip switches. I'm sure i wired it correctly, but i will check it. it does not backfire, it cranks fine but just doesnt turnover. tonight i am going to put back the original parts to see if it starts. are there any fuses or anything other than a broken wire that i should look for? thanks!!

LOL,,it doesn't make sense.
Forget to turn the fuel switch to on?
Accidentally knock the vacuum line off?

vacuum lines are all there and attached. I disconnected the gas line from the petcock, turned the fuel to on and nothing came out. Then i went one step further and tried to start the bike with the gas line still off, and no gas came out of the petcock. I removed the petcock and the filter and there were no sins that either were clogged. There is a vacuum switch under the gas tank just behind the petcock that can bee seen from the right side of the bike. If this is faulty, might that impact the fuel flow?

Nope,,thats your voes,,that wont alter fuel flow,it retards your timing under wot and advances under light throttle.
Even if you disconnect the line fuel wont come out ,,it requires vacuum to flow,,on the backside of the petcock theres is a vacuum operated diaphragm.

Make sure thats not your VOES switch. (Vacuum Operated Electrical Switch) VOES is a device to control the ignition advance.

Well if you believe in Murphy's Law "anything that can go wrong will go wrong" you're going to love this. So to recap, I change the coil, spark plug wires and the ignition module. Try to start the bike, nothing. Ok so there must be something wring with one of the parts. So like any other normal human being, I start to put the old parts back on one by one, each time attepmting a start. Well i get back to the original configuration, and guess what the bike still doesnt start. So i check the spark on each plug, thats ok. so then i inspect the vacuum lines, there ok. Then i decide to check for gas, i remove the gas line from the petcock, and while its disconnected I try to start the bike to see if fuel comes out of the petcock and it does not. Well noe it seems apparent that the petcock is bad. I find a dealer that has a replacement petcock, that happens to be an hour away. When i get home from my 2 hour trek, I race over to the bike to install the new petcock, cause the suspense of not knwoing what is wrong is killin me. Well guess what, the f n bike starts right up. So the moral of the story is when you are working on the ingition system of you sportster, alway have a spare petcock in your toolbox beecause we all know when you screw around with your ignition system it impacts your fuel flow. i mean come on, what are the chances of the petcock failing at the instance i decide to change my ignition system. Next week boys and girls, Uncle John is going to install lower rear shocks, i wonder what happen once i do that. My lights will probally stop working! Thanks everyone for you help on this one!!
