Default fng with a 883 question

New guy, looking for two 883's in spring 2010, like to spend around 7-8k, is this possible?

I've seen some around my home town for around 4300 and they were 2004's.
The big question is how much less vibration and other upgrades came with the 2004 model? In many searches the avg price for a 04 seems to be around 5k that's with accessories or upgrades. This being our first real bikes I'm ok with stock parts. I would like my wife to have an 04 or up but I was wondering if I would be ok with more vibration, or is there more benefit to having an 04 than just rubber mounts? By benefit I mean reliability. After the purchase I won't have much left for repairs or gadgets for a while.

Any input on this topic is welcome. I really want a sporty, I just love them, and don't want to wait another year so the budget is fixed unfortunatly.

If you're wanting brand new, I am sure a dealer would work with you on prices. As for the used, it seems like you're on the money with the pricing. If I were you, I'd go newer. If you keep your eyes open you can find some pretty good deals out there. Check Craigslist and watch eBay. Even here on the forums you can run across some real good deals.

Solid or rubber is a matter of preference.
Ive rode both but still prefer solid.
I like the feeling of it (ok,,no dirty thoughts!!)

Get the rubber mounted. You'll be sorry if you don't. And no matter what...get your wife a rubber mount.
