Default No Idle

It seems that if you had enough fuel in the float bowl that it needed draining, then there was enough fuel for the engine to run. We're missing something.

As I understand it, after you changed the jets, it would start, but it wouldn't idle. It would start and die, start and die. You changed the jets back, but it did the same thing. Right? Have you pulled the plugs to take a look at them. If they are all black, then it is running super rich. The plugs could be fouled at this point.

By any chance, could you have put the jets in the wrong place? I know on some carbs they are threaded the same, and on others they are different sized threads. Just another possibility to consider since putting it back the way it was didn't seem to help.

Just a thought, FWIW.

and this is how we learn. try it again before you take it to the indy. I am sure you can figure it out. we have all been there, carbs can be a PIA and one little bend in the float can cause it to starve or flood.

You might have also stirred up some dirt in the carb.

did you make sure you got the accelerator pump rod back in it's hole? The other question, if you hold the throttle on a little does the bike stay running? You may just need to turn your idle set screw in a couple turns.

Thanks again for the posts. I went back through and looked at everything again, and it seems like everything is correct.....and put back right. So, I had to haul it to a bike shop. Hate to do that but I am at a loss. I'll post again when they tell me exactly what I did wrong.
