Hey all-I think I'm going to go with a set of Nash 14" Midget gimps. I currently have HD extended cables w/ 12" mini apes and the cables look like they'll reach 2 more inches but has anyone installed 14" apes with the HD extended cables? Thanks for your help!

 

Not sure on the actual length on the HD cables but I think all but the clutch cable may work. Guess once ya get em on you'll know for sure.

 

thanks cap'n. at a glance they look like they'll reach but somebody out there has to have 14" apes with hd ext. cables. i also heard that the gimps aren't truly 14" and are actually a kunt hair under. can anyone confirm that?

 

well i pulled the trigger on a set of nash 14" mini gimps. theyre expensive but man there are just no apes on the market like them. can't wait to get them. pics forthcoming!

 

Sounds great but knowing how Nash is (from reading on almost every forum) it might be quite a while before we get to see your pics of the bars. Looking fwd. to see them.

 

yeah i know cap'n. just hoping they got a set lying around they can ship out right away. hey being that they aren't knurled, ya think a little hockey tape may do the trick to help keep them tight?

 

No one is going to be bale to tell you if your cables will fit unless you can say how long they are extended, +2", +4", etc. If you have your current P/Ns for the cables you used, you can get the length from the HD site...

 

I've got the HD Black Diamond braided cables and brake line (meant for the HD mini apes) on my 14" Burly apes.

I think it'll work for ya.

I bought my nightster used with mini-apes and chrome braided cables (don't know what the original owner was thinking getting chrome on an all black bike...vivid black) and i was wondering if the cables that HD sells are pre-cut or do they do custom fitting? I'm looking to get the black ones (maybe red if i get the wheels painting red), does anyone know before i call the dealer? Also, if anyone knows someone that wants to sell/trade theirs.
