Default will it fit?

ok since i kinda broke the back baffle in my exhaust and it has a cat in it, i was wondering i know somebidy that knows somebody that works for harley and said he could come across some used sportster mufflers. If i was to get one for the back jug that doesnt have a cat in it would it fit in the fron, like are the holes and everything the same?

Not sure but although the muffler will probably fit in the pipe I would think any mounting brackets would be different from the front and rear.

Yup, pretty sure they are different. But I think some 05 mufflers will fit, and they didn't have a "cat" in the front

I have never seen slip-ons designated for front or rear.

As a matter of fact, when you purchase a full exhaust system (not 2 into 1) the mufflers are not designated front or rear.

well thats what im sayin, they bolt on to the existing hardware so then the front and back stock should be the same exact my year came with cats. Sooooo if i get another years back or even front it should be fine then i can take out that baffle and be fine.....

Ok guess the newer slip ons are different then my 97 because although I dont know if they are designated front or rear there definetly is a difference where the brackets that hold them to the frame mounts.Mine bolts to the exhaust with a clamp but then farther back each has a bracket to krrp them from bouncing all over.
