The D402 is made in a 21 inch tire and a 16 for the rear so yes it is a choice to use.But I opted for the D401 because they had it in stock and I didnt want to wait to get the D402

The D-404 is a tire that is made for Dunlop in Japan rather than the US. It is supposedly made to Dunlop specs and materials.

I made the mistake of getting one for the rear of the wife's Heritage. She got about 5,000 miles out of it, and she is not an agressive rider. She usually gets 11,000 or 12,000 miles out of a rear tire. I would never get another one.

I have seen some posts where people say that they had bulging and seperation issues with the Metzlers. I always buy the 401 & 2, they are a decent tire, I know how they feel and best of all they say "Harley-Davidson" on the sidewall.....what more could you want?
