Trak-Tek A/C Install - LOVE IT!
Well this weekend I did my first real install of something engine wise. Luckily I got my Trak-Tek a/c in the mail on Saturday, and was able to put it on later that afternoon (while it was raining) and then low and behold the rain broke and the roads dried up right as I was finishing so I could take it for a spin!
Thankfully I didn't have to pull the carb, as it had already been rejetted when the previous owner put on the SE I pipes. The only thing I messed around with was dropping the idle speed down a bit (was 1050, now at ~900) Gives it a nicer sound at idle while still pumping enough oil to the engine.
You can really hear this thing sucking in the air, and I can notice a huge difference in throttle response. It was always quick on to accelerate, but now it really comes to life when i get on her!
I couldn't be happier...and it also frees up some leg room by getting rid of that big ol ham can!

i'll get a picture of it sometime this week.

not so sure on the exact hp/tq gains, but it is more noticible and quick when i get on the throttle. I would used to shift around 3500-4000 rpm, b/c it sounded like i NEEDED to shift, but after putting the ramflo on, i brought her up to 5000, and it sounded great...and kept haulin @ss all the while!
