I cheaped out, they came on the bike when i got and i could see really well out of them but i agree whole heartedly that they look goofy. especially sticking out past the ends of a 32" drag bar.

what does it mean when they say the drag bars are dimpled?

There are indents on the bottom side where the wires need to run because of the way they come out of the controls. They don't run inside...just in a "dimple" so they don't get pinched.

I bought 2 pair on eBay... the first ones were 32", I liked the feel but they looked just a little too wide so back to eBay I went and got some 28", they feel and look perfect. Everything just clears the peanut tank. I also did not have to change out the front brake line... any more narrow and I think I would of had to cause of the bend where the soft line goes into the hard line on the right side of the steering (when you go more narrow is makes the "S" tighter. Here is mine with the 28's on...
