I just went through the same thing except I took my class on a yamaha 250 and bought an 04 1200. Had to buy it blind becuase my license was in the mail but boy was the first second hell every trip around the block fun.

Oh and nice bike!!

 

I am also new to the boards, but had a similar reaction. I rode a rocket for awhile, and when I got my harley I thought this is going to take some getting used to, but as soon as I left the dealership on got on the highway, I looked over at my buddy who was riding next to me and no words needed to be exchanged. We just smiled and enjoyed the road. There is no other feeling in the world like it!

I was in the same boat just a few months ago.took my Motorcyle safty course from Harley too in middle of May. and bought a Brand new 2009 sportster 1200 custom purple flake and silver. And in the class i said oh my god what am i doing im 39 yrs old almost 40 am I too old for this. i only sat on a bike probably twice maybe 25yrs earlyer. Well im up to 1000 mile already and 2 group rides later.. I love it... to the point of obbsession. what a great 40th birthday (which is sunday) for myself. I am now officially a harley fanatic. enjoy. and go on a group ride there is truly nothing more fun. and will take you hours to wipe that smile off your face
