Mustang seat standard or wide
Last week I just got a new 06 1200Low, after only 300 miles of riding....I realize a new seat for longer than 1 hour rides is needed. Thanks to info gained in this forum..it looks like the Mustang is the overall most popular solo seat. I am 5'7" and 185lbs....yesterday I ordered the Vintage Solo Wide (15 inch width) as opposed to the Vintage Standard (12.5 width). "Al" at Mustang said given my size, I could probably go with either. Anybody out there around my size with the Mustang that can give me any feedback on their preference.

RE: Mustang seat standard or wide
Good decision on the width.I pulled a corbin off my Heritage and went with the Mustang .You may have a little less room to check your oil on the Sporty though but it shouldnt be too much of a problem .They should be built high enough up on the right side .Mustang has a good reputation for quality and fitment..The 12 " wouldnt been any different than your stock saddle. The mustang also offers a deeper seat with more back support.I think you will be a happy rider !

good luck on the new bike, I have the same bike and I put on a vintage wide solo seat and the wide passenger seat. I have a short inseam probably could be more comfortable with the standard width at a stop, But felt the wider would be better since your riding more than stopped.Good choice of seats.

Thanks to all for the advice..... 15 inch Mustang seat arrived last night...fits/looks perfect, the 12.5 would probably been a little snug.....this new seat will make those longer rides more comfy. Boy, the feedback this site gives makes shopping/deciding on accessories much less time consuming..thnx again.
