I drained mine and filled it with 10wt belray SHOCK oil 10oz ea and installed a shrader valve between the seat and tank on the frame, I also replaced the Plastic air fittings on the shocks with ALL brass ones from a "hose shop" they sell Big rig air line fittings:
It is 5/8 washer. I went to tractor supply and were the have hitch pins they also have 5/8 shims. A little thicker than washers and outside diameter is smaller also. Btw in the tire slime area the have 2 packs of slime valve stems that fit the shocks perfect
I went to tractor supply could not find screw in valve stems only the pull thru ones
I have 2012 HD 48 and thinking of putting a Road king shock ( 54565-97C ) my mechanic said it wouldn't work since i'm only 150 lbs. and 5'5" ht.
I'm also considering a "TEC" shocks with a piggy back 12.3 in length.
pls help.
