I cut the fender on my other bike and the paint tends to bubble or melt within about a 1/4 inch of the cut off blade from the heat. What I did was tape it off and rattle can about a 1/2" back from the edge and the edge itself. Looks fine for now.

No badges, Keep the pipes black, throw off everyone and mount on an 883 peanut tank. Then you have the ''Whitester" that Gump was talkin' about. Except the Ironhead part!!! It does look real good the way it is now.

Looks great. I like the black pipes. Looks balanced. Would have to reserve comment on the badges. What kind did you order?

Not sure what she ordered. I'll take a pic when they get here.

No way to do it cleanly. I taped mine off with masking tape drew my lines and to the grinder to it. Mine didn't bubble like Phantoms did, but with time the paint will start to peel next to the cut. If you don't want to repaint, you could find a color you wouldn't mind adding and fade the paint away about 1/2"-1" from the edge that was cut, then add 1/2-1" of the color you wouldn't mind adding to the tip of the fender.

I'm with chromedome on the badges. The right ones would set it off but the wrong ones would kill the great work you all have done.

'Borrowed' one of your pics to play around on photoshop getting some ideas for my blue 883c, so figured may as well share what I did roughly with your paint colour...

That's cool... can you black-out the grey engine?
