Default Pre Loading Stock Fork Springs

i have an 08 sportster 883C. I am looking for something to give a little pre load to my stock fork springs. Anybody know a wat to do this? If necessary I would go to a heavier spring. Don't really know where to go there either. As it is, when I sit on the bike the front drops about 1/2 the distance of the fork travel and I would like it to be closer to 1/4. Any info would help.

Tin, I put Progressive Fork Springs in my 2007 1200C and used the supplied spacers at their full length. Doing that and using 7w BelRay Fork Oil gives me a very good ride up front.
I used this device from Progressive to adjust the oil level to the prescribed amount.

I use one of these. About $30-
I've also used a 14" carraige bolt, a black Sharpie and patience. Free, but not as accurate.

Use some thick PVC pipe cut to length. Try 1 inch long first and see how she sit's.

Only problem is screwing the fork caps back on if it's too long. Just make sure you have the front wheel off the ground.

I used the 3" spacers that came with the springs, they are spot on perfect.
