Default First Oil and Tran fluid change complete, but???

I gave my new bike it's first oil/filter and trans fluid change today. 950 miles on it. Mobile 1 V-twin 20-50 syn. in the engine and the HD Forula+ stuff back into the trans.

Not much to it like any other oil change or fluid change, but when I fired the bike up for a checkout spin down the road, I noticed my clutch had about 1 inch of slack in it now! The tran fluid level was perfect and not one thing had been touched on the bike other than pulling the plug to drain the fluid and the clutch inspection cover was pulled to put fluid back in.

I had to adjust the clutch cable to get the slack out and get the clutch back to normal operation.

I called the service dude at my dealer to see what he though, and he has never heard of this happening by just changing the fluid. I think he though I was full of chit and lieing about it. Anyone else seen this? Any ideas as to why would a simple change in fluid would do this to the clutch?

You had to have touched or moved the adjuster screw after you removed the Derby cover.....

Or messed with the cable adjuster.....

It's not possible to have that much slack and nothing was touched...

FWIW, get the Svc Manual.... A 1k svc is FAR More than an oil change.....

ALL the cables need dis-adjusted and re-set to spec, Primary chain tension needs reset....

The list goes on.....

I hear ya, but I if I touched anything, I sure dont remember doing it! And I weren't drink'n while turning the wrenches either

I will be taking it in for the rest of the 1k, but it will be a few days before I have time to. I wanted to get the fluid's changed asap as I didnt feel right running that engine with that first round of oil past 1k. Probably be at 1400 - 1500 before I can get it to the dealer.
