oil tanks

This is my first post and i need help. I have a 91 Xl and purchased a used oil tank from a guy that said it is supposed to fit a 93 -2003 model. I bought it at first glance without really looking at Supply and return hose locations. After closer inspection, i have found my original oil tanks' hoses are in differnt locations; will this cause any issues? Size and shape are good, hose and mounting bracket not so much! can i make this one work?
