Default Looking for a new 2 up seat.

Hey just wondering if you aren't riding your stock seat, then what did you go with? Just trying to get an idea of what is good out there. I am still a noob.

Probably the 2 top choices in 2up touring seats are the HD Sundowner and the Mustang Wide Vintage Touring. The Sundowner is softer and more plush feeling IMO compaired to the firmer Mustang. However, after running the Sundowner for a little over a year I switched to the Mustang because of the difference in the shape of the seat. The raised back & sides of the saddle on the Sundowner wrap around farther forward than they do on the Mustang and if you have wider hips, like I do, I found that my hips got sore after 4-5 hours from sitting on the wrap around sides ( points A & B) of the Sundowner.

Both are good seats, it just depends on which fits you the best.

What do you call this seat Charley? I know it is a Corbin but's it's gone as soon as get my forward controls and Mini Apes ... I fell like I am riding a mini Bike with these short drag bars and mid controls and I am not even that tall would love to see you on it.. LOL

Jay, it's a bit difficult to tell from the pic, but that seat seems to be missing some padding to suit my taste.

Of course, most of us FL Crew members think nothing of doing a 300-400 mile lunch ride once or twice a week, so for me, it's a function over form issue when it comes to accessorizing the ride. I only have a 32" inseam, yet by looking at my sig pic, most wouldn't guess I've got what HD calls "forward controls" on the 04up Sporties. My knees are still bent at a 90* angle with the forwards. I finally did break down and install a crash bar (engine guard) with highway pegs so I can stretch out a bit on those 10+ hour days. I don't care that Sporties don't look "cool" with them, looks isn't a primary factor when you're riding 20K miles a year.

I do however run drag bars. Probably not the optimum choice for cruising the slab, but then who needs their hands on the bars anyway when you're running the slab? I wouldn't give up my drags because they're optimum for my trips to the twisties several times a year.

Here is a better shot of the Seat and Bars.. Ignore them crappy looking mirrors Charley, had to put them mirros on or all i could see was my armpits.. They are history as soon as install the New Bars and Fwd Controls, but back on point this seat definitely needs more padding. The Drags Bars are 27" across maybe a midget owned this bike before me LOL...

I went with the Sundowner on my 2007 1200 -L and my wife and sister-in-law both said it is much improved over the stock seat. For solo riding, I actually think i like the stock seat better.
