I had the sides of my seat shaved. Made a huge difference and nobody can tell it was altered. Cost around 80.00

I tried a reach seat and it was useless. It was hard and uncomfortable and made my **** ache after about half an hours riding. It didn't seem to move my feet forward at all.

I ended up refitting the original seat. The reach seat was a waste of money and I sold it on eBay.

I solved the problem this way:

I moved the pegs rearwards and upwards by using the 2 inch Kuryakyn male mount lockable offets (Kuryakyn part no 7936) and iso pegs. I then fitted a larger wide glide brake pedal (8029) and longhorn shift peg (8021).

You happen to have any pictures? I'm also thinking about a Reach seat. I had one on my bike to test fit, and was not impressed with the material it was made out of. Not nearly as nice as my stock Leather. One thing nice with the Reach is that the passenger pad is wider.

Pcalzo,

I have a LaPera Bare Bones seat that came off my '04 Sporty Custom (has the 4.5 gal tank)....I used it for one week and took it off and it's been sitting in a cabinet in my garage ever since. I'd sure like to see it go to a good home if you're interested.

I'm interested in the seat. PM me.

Oops, won't fit my 09 Custom.

Bummer.

I hope you have found a solution by now but I may have another option.

My wife's friend (fellow female rider even shorter than my wife) rocks a 2004 883C. She was also having alot of trouble getting comfortable reaching the bars & controls. I have her bike here doing some maintenance and had the seat off. Just to give it a shot I sat the stock solo seat from my 2008 1200N on there & it's definitely a winner for her. Had her stop by to try it out and she loves it. The only thing I had to do to make it work was relocate the box that mounts beneath the seat...very simple for such a big improvement for her.

I feel your pain... Got a 27" inseam and my nightster fits perfect, but... We took it to Sturgis last week, need more bike!!! (both our asses paid the price) We rented a Heritage Classic over this past weekend and I"m still drooling. It was perfect except now we discovered there is no way to fix the "foot controls way, way, way too far away" problem on that model. Damn. Sooo, will now maybe look at a Fat Boy Low, but we do need a 14" passenger pillon for the passenger. (Gotta respect the tush!). Anyway, short people need decent rides to. ...Are you listening, HD?

Default low profile seat

Hi, I recently put a "nightster " seat on my Iron for the same reason. I wanted to stay low and move forward just a bit. My recommendation is to get the hightster soo seat. I paid $ 109.00 and put it on myself. Hope this helps
