pipes
I just bought an 883R. My first new bike since 78.
I want to put pipes on it, but my dealer said that you need to re jet or something like that and dyno the bike. $700.00. Including pipes. That sounds pricey. I have put header on other bikes and never had to re jet. I know whe you go to a K&N or something like that with pipes you have to re jet. Just 700 bucks sound like a lot of bucks.
Also who makes black pipes. I hate polishing chrome. I want to ride, not clean.

Unless those are very expensive pipes, $700.00 sounds crazy to me.
For one thing, if the bike is currently running good, how can they assume that you need to 'rejet' without first checking the A/F ratio after the pipes are installed. Freeing up the exhaust flow might might change the air/fuel ratio enough that minor adjustments are necessary, but even if that is the case it would probably only require minor 'tweaking' of the carb, not different jets.
The A/F ratio is something you need to check carefully if you allow additional air flow into the engine (free flowing intake), but the incoming air/fuel mixture is not changed by working on the exhaust side. It might allow you to go slightly richer on the mixture if you want, but then again, put those gauges on the bike after you get the exhaust on, or at least do a plug reading to get an idea if you are running rich or lean.
Untold numbers of guys have installed different exhaust systems on their bikes without it being necessary to rejet the carb.
