Wow such high mpgs. I typically get mid to upper 40s during the summer with my 60 mile round trip to work. About 20 of it is highway around 70 mph. I must be doing something wrong.

The best I've ever managed is 46mpg and thats a UK gallon which is larger than a USA gallon (I USA gallon = 0.83267384 UK gallons). Granted thats all on minor roads with speed limits between 30-50 mph and with quite a few stops and starts. My car on the same route averages 38mpg

The mileage will depend on the bikes state of tune, the riding conditions, and your personal riding style.

If the bike is out of tune, running too rich or whatever the mileage will go down. If you ride in stop and city metropolitan traffic your mileage won't be as great as someone that rides at a steady clip out in rural areas. And if for some reason you think your Harley is a race bike, and you subject it to lots of full throttle runs, your mileage will be less than someone that is easy on the throttle and uses the bike for it's intended purpose of cruising.

I live in a very rural area, no stop and go city traffic, and I'm pretty easy on the throttle. The Sportster is also kept in an excellent state of tune. My modified 1200C averages right at 50 MPG, and this is with performance high lift Screamin' Eagle "E" cams which flow much more air/fuel mixture than the stock cams.

Just for comparison purposes my EFI Softail FatBoy, which has a Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner and has been dyno tuned by someone that knows what they are doing, averages right at 48 MPG under the same riding conditions.

My much heavier EFI Road King gets around 44 to 45 MPG.

Mileage figures can vary greatly for any bike depending on many factors.

City riding gets me about 45 mpg. Highway riding at about 60-70 mph will get me over 60 mpg. My Deluxe gets about 40-43 mpg in the city and a little over 50 on the highway (at legal speeds). Obviously...all it takes is a couple of quick wrist turns off a few stop lights to KILL those averages on any given tank.
