I'm looking at buying a bike (my first) and really like the bobber style. I hear the nightster is the better "starter" bike, but that in 3 months i will be ready to upgrade. My question is, if I am going to turn my bike into a true bobber, which is better? Or is there a better option?

 

I don't know about Bobbers and what would be better (if there is such a thing) but I will say don't let people tell you that the Sportster is a "starter" bike. I have and continue to hear the same thing but my sporty (883) suits me fine.

If you are looking to tour the country, a sportster isn't going to be the most comfortable and is prolly the reason people move to a Big Twin from a Sportster. As far as performance the 1200 Sporty wins hands down.
