Also whats the deal with the whats up with the gasket/aluminum/gasket deal. Does it really fill the gap to the motor, it doesn't seem to be enough.

I installed mine w/ no problems. Read the instructions (2-3 if needed) & don't be to worried about bolt torque w/ this application. The gasket / shim fills the gap just right if installed correctly.

Yes! and your not going to get the torque wrench on those breather bolts. Just tighten them up and use locktite on every bolt. Look for a thread that is titled "DANG BIG SUCKER" AND READ. Be very very very careful when you install the stand off bolts for the filter or you will crack your backing plate and you will have to get it replaced. the material the backing plate is made of is junk!!! Make sure you torque the standoffs very easy. The gaskets and shims will work fine but to let you know i had to get an extra gasket for mine to get a good seal. the instillation of the big sucker is very simple just take your time.

Just do every thing by the manual and it will all come out good. It also gives you the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself and it was done right.
